My story

Grooming that feels safe, not stressful

For a lot of dogs, the grooming table is a place of noise, rushing, and strangers. That stress builds over time and makes every future visit harder.

I groom differently. Working with small and medium dogs, roughly five to fifty pounds, by appointment on Fridays and select Saturdays, I keep the day quiet and the pace unhurried. Appointments are staggered and I groom one dog at a time, so your companion animal has my full attention and room to settle.

My grooming is consent-based. I connect with your dog's heart and soul through touch, tonality, and trust, and I ask for consent from the animal, not just from you. When your dog says not yet, we slow down.

The result is a clean, comfortable dog and a grooming experience that builds trust instead of eroding it.

For grooming I work with extra small, small, and medium dogs, one dog at a time. When you drop your dog off, we don’t go straight to the table. There’s usually about a 10 to 15 minute buffer where they can sniff, listen, move around, and actually land in the space before we start. I block about two hours per dog so we can go slow, stay kennel-free, and not fry anybody’s nervous system. This is quiet, one-on-one work where the goal is trust and confidence in their own body, not just “getting the haircut done.” Most dogs are scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks depending on coat, lifestyle, and what your individual dog needs (some coats do best on a 2 week schedule), and most families hold a standing spot in that rhythm so their dog stays comfortable. These are standing spots, and while I don’t move them around a lot, we can sometimes trade in advance when life happens and we plan it together. New-to-me clients text me at (801) 935-6116 and I’ll send over a short intake so I can learn your dog and make sure we’re a good fit before we book.

I do not put a dog through extensive dematting. Light matting is worked out by hand, and when a coat is past that the kind choice is a shave down, billed the same way from $35 depending on the coat. Additional fees may apply depending on temperament and coat type. Not sure which size your dog is? Call or text and I will tell you.

Grooming questions

How often should my dog be groomed?
Most dogs are groomed every 4 to 8 weeks depending on coat, lifestyle, and individual needs, although some coats or individual needs call for a 2 week schedule. Once we find your dog's rhythm you can hold a standing spot on that schedule.
Do you require vaccinations?
Yes, proof of a current rabies vaccination is required before your dog's first groom.
What if my dog is anxious on the table?
That is exactly the kind of dog I love to help. I go slowly, take breaks, and never force a step your dog is not ready for.
